Happy Anniversary!

Short trip

Dad & I meeting up with Tom & Mary Jane in Hinton WV next Wednesday.  We rented two cabins for Wed. & Thursday nights.  Should be fun.  Wonder if the snow will be gone by then?? They have a old wash stand they no longer want and are giving it to me.  YEAH!  Now I just have to figure out where to put it :)   We'll be back sometime on Friday.

I guess everyone is okay from the storm.  Sure glad we didn't get what they were predicting for our area.  We hardly had any branches down out of our trees.

Presidential Debate

Okay, you all know I am not one for talking about current events much, but ever since Pres. BO got into office 4 yrs. ago I've been paying very close attention to the actions of our government.  I hope you all got a chance to watch the debate last night.  Based on what I heard and saw, there is really only one candidate motivated enough and capable of taking on the challenge of putting us back on the right track.  We need significant government reform to address so many issues that have been compounding over the years and it starts by getting our debt under control.  Just bringing in more revenue from those who make money and create jobs isn't going to fix our SPENDING which is the primary cause of the high debt.  I think I am more conservative than Romney, but I'm willing to accept versions of what I believe we need to do to get bi-partisan support towards a smaller government and I think Romney has a better chance of doing that in office than BO.  SUPPORT ROMNEY....Talk to your friends who are undecided and help them see the light!!!

Motoring...again

Dad and I are heading out again tomorrow, Thursday.  Will stop in Beckley WV for the night and then head to OH.  We'll spend Friday night with Tim & Peg, visit with grandma Saturday and then head for Madison around 1 o'clock.  Looking forward to seeing and catching up with class members for the "class of 65 turning 65" dinner Saturday evening. Sunday we'll load up the car with the boxes and chairs left at grandma's house, possibly stop by to visit Sally then head back to Beckley.  Unless something changes we should be home sometime Monday.

Back to life, back to reality...

Hello all! Just thought I would check in, life is back to normal here in NC. School has started, Josh is playing soccer, and my understanding is football starts tonight.  School is going great! The students are good (so far), I'm loving my SmartBoard in my classroom, makes teaching so much easier, and I've been able to control the work load and get home fairly early.  Soccer is going well for Josh, I just wish he didn't have games at 9:45 pm so that I could go and he didn't get home so late. As far as football, that means that my husband might go missing for a little while, but I know he'll come back soon! Haha! =) I hope all of you are doing well and we look forward to seeing everyone the last weekend in September!
